Milan Design Week 2022: Mobilia’s insider highlights

As events go in the furniture sphere, it doesn’t get much more important than Milan Design Week. Founded in 1961, Salone del Mobile has long been a vehicle for promoting the best of Italian furniture design. So, it’s no surprise to hear that Mobilia’s commercial director, and Perth local, Mirella Scaramella made the journey to soak it all up this year. Offering a front row seat to the event, herewith are her personal highlights.

Featherby House

Designed by iconic architect and Bulgarian born Iwan Iwanoff, Featherby House, built circa 1971, is a stunning example of his brutalist style characterised by concrete blocks and distinct rectilinear form.

We spoke to current custodians Ashley and Danielle Walker about their experience owning and restoring such a unique piece of West Australian architectural history.
