Back in the day when I was studying interior design, there was one Australian designer that provided endless amounts of inspiration and visual stimulation. That man was David Hicks. His refined style and signature use of mid-century classics was a look that struck a chord and still does to this day.
The internationally acclaimed Melbourne based designer, now with an additional office in Los Angeles, has designed extraordinary award winning homes, injecting them with understated glamour and a level of sophistication that in my opinion is perfectly executed.
David Hicks’ portfolio spans the globe, with countless homes in the Victorian suburb of Toorak, high flying US Penthouses and chic Sydney bayside estates. He is also prolific in the retail and commercial design arena, having designed popular bars and restaurants and stores for the likes of Alannah Hill, Calibre, Green With Envy and Scanlan and Theodore.
