Well, it’s that time again. The 2014 Fringe World Festival starts today and we’re just a little bit excited. The Fringe World Festival is without a doubt one of my personal festival favourites on the calendar and each year I make sure to attend as many of the fabulous, wild and wonderful shows as possible.
The 2014 program is bigger, brassier and bolder than ever, with a staggering 450 shows available for the public’s viewing pleasure and a real smorgasbord of new and familiar treats. You’ll also find free events every night of the festival which means there’s no excuse not to get in on the action!
Expanding on the festival’s incredible success in 2013, Perth will be treated to four weeks of entertainment choices from January 24 to February 23 in more than 60 traditional and non-traditional venues throughout the City of Perth and beyond.
If there’s one venue not to be missed, it is the De Parel Spiegeltent located at The Perth Cultural Centre in Northbridge. By day you’ll experience family friendly delightful matinees, coffee and giggles but by night, expect the unexpected; this intricately imagined venue transforms into a harem, a cave, a smokey jazz club and anything and everything in between.
