It’s no secret I love art. And so I was excited to watch on last week as twelve artists took to the shop fronts and walls of 140 in a five day effort to transform the space into a temporary public art gallery. The campaign, entitled 140 ART, showcases twelve of Australia’s most acclaimed artists, including several local artists doing big things in the art world.
140 ART features artworks from the likes of Anya Brock, Andy Quilty, Pippa McManus, Amok Island, Phibs, Sara Winfield, Ian Mutch, Andrew Frazer, Michelle Leslie, Rebecca Wetzler, Tess Bury and Joseph Boin. These inspiring works can be seen along William Street, Wellington Street and the Murray Street Mall.
The campaign marks the beginning of a multimillion dollar redevelopment commencing in 2014, which will see 140 become a destination where food, art and fashion collide.
The exhibition runs until 31st January 2014, so be sure to head down and check it out.
